Social Justice Portrait

For the past two weeks I have been working on my social justice portrait. I decided this week I was going to focused on using my talents and frustrations and put all my emotions into my art, and that is exactly what I did. I had to find the right image describing how I felt after having an eventful week this image stood out the most to me. I took its originality and made my own ideas regarding it. It took so much time and patience to complete this but it was well worth it. What well this week is even though I did not have all the materials to complete this portrait instead of giving up on it I was able to compromise other ways that i might complete it. One part of the project that I found a struggle was trying to color and outline the hair because I have to make sure that I done color over the written names which took longer to do so. Also, my black marker was a really thin sharpie so that was as will slowing the process of finishing the portrait, it was exhausting coloring the hair itself took about two days to do.I did really well in this class for this week, because I took something I was strongly passionate about and took my time seriously and created a very powerful piece. When analyzing the finishing product with not words or explanation attached to it you are able to see that this portrait tells and shows so much untold stories.
